VUKA SONGEZO - Meaning Rise up Songezo
Songezo was orphaned after losing his mother at the age of nine and his father at the age of thirteen, taken in by his aunt in Cape Town he had to adjust to the "city life" after growing up in rural Eastern Cape.
When the Cape argus cycle tour passed his house at the age of fourteen he saw cycling as a sport for the first time ever. The next day he went to an academy, where they let him use a bicycle. He never knew how to ride a bicycle, so that was the first challenge. He went on to compete in Europe at some of the greatest races in the world, representing South Africa for many years amongst the greats. He has started his own academy for the young growing up in South Africa and this is his story in short.
